The Hearts of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother

Someone said, if we take away the love from parents, the only thing left is a shell. Of course, the role of parents is not only unilateral love, but it also contains the intention to express how great the love of parents is. Since the love of earthly parents is a copy and shadow created from the example of heave, it is impossible to estimate how great the love of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother is.

Once upon a time, there lived a rich man and a farmer. Even though the rich man had enough wealth that he did not need to envy others, there was one thing missing that was he had no children. On the other hand, although the farmer was poor, he had five children so he always felt rich.

The rich man always envied the farmer. One day the rich man asked the farmer if he could adopt one of his children and that he would compensate him abundantly with land and wealth. Upon hearing the request, the farmer discussed it with his wife.

“How about sending him our youngest of our five children?” “No. Our youngest is still in need of mom and dad’s loving care. “What about our second oldest?” “No. He gets sick so often, how can we know when he’ll get sick again?” “Then what about our first born?” “No way. If we send the pillar of our house, who’s going to help out with alll the farm work?” “Hmm, what about our second youngest?” “No. If he’s away from his mom even for a moment, he will bawl his eyes out. Look at the traces of tears under his eyes.” “Well, I guess that means it’s our middle son, the trouble maker, since he’s the only one left.” “We could never send him. He’s a trouble maker which means he needs his parent’s love the most.”

After talking with his wife the farmer came to a decision. He could never change his children with any amount of wealth. Even if we don’t explain it, everybody knows that the farmer lived happily ever after together with his five sons.

The heart of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother is the same. While living our life of faith there are many hardships and difficulties we come to face. Why is our life full of difficulties when we believe in God? We can know the answer when we think about the past and why God led the Israelites into the barren desert and made them suffer.

Deuteronomy 8:16 He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in the end it might go well with you.

God could’ve led the Israelites on a smooth path at any time, but the reason He led them on a difficult path was so they could receive blessings. That’s because, while walking that path they must overcome all hardships in order to be blessed.

We can easily understand this through parents and children of this world. Parents have already lived a life as much as their children’s age so they advise them this and that. However, children have not lived as long as their parents so their parent’s advice is nothing more than nagging to them. All parents and children will agree to this with one voice.

Sometimes, the process of following Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother can be overwhelming. Just as there were trials, snares and traps on the way to the land of Canaan, it is the same with our life of faith. However, Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother have promised us that after we overcome our personal trials they will give us a blessing that cannot even be compared with what we’ve suffered.

Revelation 21:1-5 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away … He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

There is not a single child that Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother hate. They give boundless love to everyone. When we trust in the love of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother and rely on them as we walk the life of faith we will ultimately become the protagonist of the blessings that have been prepared.
