Holy Worship Day, the Sabbath Day

What is the reason to worship God? We are souls who committed sin in heaven and were cast down to this earth. We need atonement for all our past sins in regard to our relationship with God. God decided to forgive us of our sins and transgressions, and established worship service for us. Worship service plays an important role of a bridge between God and His people.

The Sabbath is a worship service that God has established. God emphasizes “Since the Sabbath day is holy to you; you must keep the Sabbath day” and made the Sabbath day an eternal sign (Exodus 31:13-17). This means, the Sabbath day is an indispensable feast in regard to our salvation.

2000 years ago, Jesus, who came to this earth to save humankind, also kept the Sabbath day (Luke 4:16-21). The Apostles of the Early Church also kept the Sabbath day precious following the example of Jesus (Acts 17:2-3).

If you love me, you will obey what I command … He who does not love me will not obey my teaching (John 14:15-24). Unfortunately, the majority of churches today are keeping Sunday service while putting aside the teachings of Jesus. The Bible calls these people; refers to them as, ‘those who do not love Jesus’. The Church of God firmly keeps the Sabbath day even among much persecution because we truly love Jesus.

The heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array …on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

The Sabbath day is the seventh day. God clearly distinguished the seventh day, Sabbath day, and on this day promised blessings to those who give worship on it (Exodus 20:8-11). Then, what day is the seventh day, Sabbath?

Luke 24:1-7 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb… they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus…suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. … He is not here; he has risen!

Jesus resurrected from among the dead in three days. The Bible records the day of Jesus’ resurrection as Sunday ‘the day after the Sabbath, that is, the first day of the week. If the day after the Sabbath is Sunday, then the day before Sunday is Saturday, the Sabbath day. The day when we worship God holy is Saturday, the Sabbath day.

The Church of God keeps the Sabbath day worship precious according to the records of the Bible.
