Heavenly Mother Jerusalem

The Bible records the saints to be saved as 'children of promise'. That promise is none other than eternal life (1 John 2:25). Eternal life is not given unconditionally just because we believe in God. Then, through whom and in what way can we receive eternal life?

Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

This is the scene in which the Apostle John praises God, who made heaven and earth. The point we have to pay attention to is, that all things were created according to the will of God, and through this we can discover the existence of God.

In God's creation there are birds that fly in the sky, fish of the sea, and beasts that run on the fields. The thing these animals have in common is that ultimately they receive life through their 'mother'. It is the same for humans. Humans, called the lord of all creation, cannot give life to their children by father alone without a mother.

In the same way, there is a reason why all living things are ultimately given life through mothers. It is to connote the will of God to let us know Heavenly Mother, who gives eternal life to humankind.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

The Bible records that God, who said “us,” created humans. There is a secret hidden in the word 'us'. It means that God who created humankind is not just one God. It is not only recorded like this in the Korean Bible but in the French, German, English and Spanish Bibles as well.

The decisive clue to let us know the appearance of God is the result of the work created in the image of God, “man and woman”. In other words, man was created in the ‘male image of God’, and woman was created in the ‘female image of God'.

For thousands of years, people have referred to the male image of God as Father. Jesus also taught that the male image of God in heaven is the Father of our souls (Matthew 6:9). What is amazing is the fact that not only Heavenly Father exists but also the existence of Heavenly Mother is also recorded in the Bible.

Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother…Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise…Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

The Apostle Paul referred to the saints who are to be saved as the 'children of the free women'. The free woman is none other than the Mother of our souls. The Bible explains, that the “Jerusalem above (in heaven) is our mother.”

The Bible is not a book written by people's thoughts and judgments. It was written by the Holy Spirit of God. Therefore, the word of the Bible which says that there is not only the Father of our spirits, but also our Mother exists, must be acknowledged and accepted. This is the wisdom that allows us to go to heaven.
