Be Baptized Immediately

“The time you wasted today is the tomorrow the one who died yesterday longed for.”

Are you a person who just passes today by or someone who earnestly longs for tomorrow? The answer is the latter. Everybody is afraid of dying, because we live day to day without knowing what will happen the next moment.

There is no doctor who would just leave a patient brought to the ER untreated for 6 months or a year. Even a second, is important to an ER patient. It is the same for us who committed a sin deserving of the death sentence in the kingdom of heaven and came to this earth (Romans 6:23). All people are spiritual death row inmates who cannot boast about tomorrow. Baptism which contains the power of the forgiveness of sins is an urgent ceremony that cannot be put off even for a moment.

According to teachings of Jesus, the saints of the Early Church baptized people who wanted salvation regardless of time and place. Whether it was on the road, or in the middle of the night or on the Sabbath, it didn’t matter (Acts 8:26-39, 10:44-48, 16:13-14, 16:29-34).

If someone commits a sin, they have to pay the price for it. The love of God who was flogged, crucified and died on the cross in our place, is hidden in God’s forgiveness of sins through baptism. Even though the pain was so hard to endure, that Jesus prayed, “…if you are willing, take this cup from me…” He instituted a baptism ceremony so that His children would not have to suffer with delight.

Just as Jesus died on the cross and placed in a grave, through baptism our sins are buried in water. The history of Jesus’ resurrection after three days shows that we are born again with a new life after baptism (Romans 6:3-4, 1 Corinthians 10:1-4). Quickly be baptized in Zion where the Savior in the age of the Holy Spirit dwells and receive the grace of salvation.

Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
